Sermenza - Tom and Simon's Romantic Walk

This time we went to Italy
‘L'indecisione è la chiave alla flessibilità’

Sermenza

On the last day, the group headed off to run the Sermenza, which was a nice little wind-down run with a few interesting drops along the way. Does that sounds really vague? Well, truth be told, I can't really remember much about it other than there were two sections and some people got off after the top section, having burned out their love of kayaking. This is a temporary affliction that hits most kayakers from time to time. Sometimes getting off early for beer and ice cream can salvage a poor day.

Here's the take-out for the first section. Some folks getting off, some people thinking about it, some people eager to push on...

Road to the bottom...

Some action on the way down...

Tom heading off downstream into the canyon. Tom is happy to wait for his beer and ice cream.

Here's the take out, just above the confluence with the Sesia once more.

Tom and Simon's Romantic Walk

To round off the trip, Tom and Simon went for a lovely walk in the hills at the very top of the Sesia valley...

One last waterfall...

The hike took them up to the snowline

Here are a couple of pictures of the view back down the Sesia valley...

and

Simon, adding a sense of scale...

Simon, one last closeup... intense...

In case that was too intense, here's a pretty scene of a chocolate box house and some goats...
